Lidopril typically contains a combination of two active local anesthetic agents: lidocaine and prilocaine. These components belong to the amide class of anesthetics.
When applied to intact skin, the cream works by penetrating the epidermal and dermal layers. Once absorbed, the active ingredients stabilize the neuronal membrane by inhibiting the ionic fluxes required for the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses.
