Treatment of superficial ocular infections caused by susceptible micro-organisms.,Topical antibacterial agent. this medicine is indicated for the treatment of infected wounds, burns, skin grafts, ulcers, pyoderma, sycosis barbae, impetigo, and in secondarily infected skin lesions of scabies, pediculosis, tinea pedis and contact and allergice dermatitis.
1-2 drops bid-qid. Acute infections 1-2 drops every 15-30 min.
Tuberculous, viral lesions of the skin (e.g. herpes simplex and varicella); fungal lesions not susceptible to nystatin, facial rosacea, acne vulgaris or perioral dermatitis. Not to be applied to the external auditory canal in patients with perforated tympanic membranes. Do not use on extensive areas to reduce risk of systemic absorption and Neomycin (Polixin Drops)-induced ototoxicity. Not recommended for <1 yr.
