Oral - premenstrual syndrome, fibrocystic breast disease, premenopausal, menopause, including premature, postmenopausal women - as the progestogen component of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in combination with estrogen; Capsules Vaginal - HRT when dormant in the absence of ovarian progesterone (egg donation), support the luteal phase in preparation for in vitro fertilization, support the luteal phase in spontaneous or induced menstrual cycle, prevention of habitual abortion by threatening and progestogen deficiency, endocrine infertility, prevention of uterine fibroids, endometriosis.

Progesterone is used to prevent recurrent miscarriage and maintain pregnancy; to treat absence of menstruation (amenorrhoea) in women of childbearing age and abnormal uterine bleeding; as a hormone replacement therapy in post-menopausal women; to treat premenstrual syndrome (feelings of tension, irritability, depression, headache, breast tenderness, weight gain and bloating that occurs 7-10 days before menstruation) and depression following child birth.
Nmp reduces the intensity of the drugs that stimulate the smooth muscles of the uterus, anabolic steroids, gonadotropin-releasing hormone of the anterior pituitary.
This medication reduces the lactogenic effect of oxytocin.
Progesterone enhances the action of diuretics, antihypertensive drugs, immunosuppressive drugs. Simultaneous administration of Nmp with barbiturates it is marked decrease of progesterone effects.
Cardiovascular system: increased blood pressure.
Metabolic: edema.
Digestive system: liver problems, jaundice, rarely (with prolonged use) - nausea, vomiting.
Endocrine: rare (with prolonged use) - decreased libido, weight gain, pain and tension in the breasts, irregular uterine bleeding.
CNS: rare (with prolonged use) - headache, depression.
