Jopan is a therapeutic agent belonging to the class of medications known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). By targeting the acid-secreting mechanism within the stomach lining, Jopan helps to reduce the overall acidity of digestive fluids.
Mechanism of Action
The active component in Jopan works by inhibiting the H^+/K^+-ATPase enzyme system, commonly referred to as the gastric acid pump. This enzyme is located in the parietal cells of the stomach wall and represents the final stage of acid secretion.
