Brompheniramine/ dextromethorphan/ guaifenesin/ phenylephrine syrup is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity or idiosyncrasy to any of its ingredients. Sympathomimetic amines are contraindicated in patients with severe hypertension, severe coronary artery disease and patients on monoamine oxidase (MAO) Inhibitor therapy. Antihistamines are contraindicated in patients with narrow angle glaucoma, urinary retention, peptic ulcer, and during an asthma attack.
Dextromethorphan (Brompheniramine/ dextromethorphan/ Guaifenesin (Brompheniramine/ dextromethorphan/ guaifenesin/ Phenylephrine (Brompheniramine/ dextromethorphan/ guaifenesin/ phenylephrine syrup) syrup)/ Phenylephrine (Brompheniramine/ dextromethorphan/ guaifenesin/ phenylephrine syrup) syrup) should not be used in patients receiving a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug.
Use Brompheniramine/ dextromethorphan/ guaifenesin/ phenylephrine syrup as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
- Take Brompheniramine/ dextromethorphan/ guaifenesin/ phenylephrine syrup by mouth with or without food.
- Use the dropper that comes with Brompheniramine/ dextromethorphan/ guaifenesin/ phenylephrine syrup to measure your dose. Ask your pharmacist for help if you are unsure of how to measure your dose.
- If you miss a dose of Brompheniramine/ dextromethorphan/ guaifenesin/ phenylephrine syrup, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

If you are taking this medication under your doctor's direction, your doctor or pharmacist may already be aware of any possible drug interactions and may be monitoring you for them. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with your doctor or pharmacist first.
Taking certain MAO inhibitors with this medication may cause a serious (possibly fatal) drug interaction. Avoid taking isocarboxazid, methylene blue, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, rasagiline, selegiline, or tranylcypromine during treatment with this medication. Most MAO inhibitors should also not be taken for two weeks before treatment with this medication. Ask your doctor when to start or stop taking this medication.
If you are currently using any of these medications listed above, tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting this medication. Avoid taking MAO inhibitors within 2 weeks of starting or stopping this medication.
Before using this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially: antihistamines applied to the skin (such as diphenhydramine cream, ointment, spray), antispasmodics (e.g., atropine, belladonna alkaloids), beta blockers (e.g., metoprolol, atenolol), drugs for Parkinson's disease (e.g., anticholinergics such as benztropine, trihexyphenidyl), guanethidine, certain inhaled anesthetics (e.g., halothane), methyldopa, reserpine, scopolamine, tricyclic antidepressants (e.g., amitriptyline, desipramine).
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you also take drugs that cause drowsiness such as: certain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine), anti-seizure drugs (e.g., carbamazepine), medicine for sleep or anxiety (e.g., alprazolam, diazepam, zolpidem), muscle relaxants, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines (e.g., chlorpromazine, risperidone, amitriptyline, trazodone).
Check the labels on all your medicines (e.g., cough-and-cold products, diet aids) because they may contain ingredients that could affect your heart rate/blood pressure or cause drowsiness. Ask your pharmacist about the safe use of those products.
This medication may interfere with certain medical/laboratory tests (including brain scan for Parkinson's disease), possibly causing false test results. Make sure laboratory personnel and all your doctors know you use this drug.

G.I. System - Epigastric discomfort, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation.

Hematologic System - Hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis.
