Amco is used for a symptomatic relief of heartburn, dyspepsia and flatulence.
Aluminum and magnesium are naturally occurring minerals. Aluminum hydroxide and Magnesium hydroxide (Amco) are antacids.
Simethicone allows gas bubbles in the stomach and intestines to come together more easily, which allows for easier passage of gas.
Aluminum hydroxide, Magnesium hydroxide (Amco), and simethicone is a combination medicine used to treat heartburn, acid indigestion, upset stomach, and bloating caused by gas.

What is the most important information I should know about Amco?
Amco should not be used in patients who are severally suffering from renal insufficiency, or if there is severe abdominal pain and / or the possibility of bowel obstruction.
Amco chewable tablets contain phenylalanine and should not be given to phenylketonurics patients.

Anticoagulants (eg, warfarin) because the risk of their side effects may be increased by Magnesium hydroxide (Amco)
Azole antifungals (eg, ketoconazole), bisphosphonates (eg, alendronate), cation exchange resins (eg, sodium polystyrene sulfonate), cephalosporins (eg, cephalexin), mycophenolate, penicillamine, quinolone antibiotics (eg, ciprofloxacin), or tetracyclines (eg, doxycycline) because their effectiveness may be decreased by Magnesium hydroxide (Amco)
