Each tablet contains Calcium (Alcium-D3) carbonate equivalent to Calcium (Alcium-D3) 400 mg, stabilized vitamin D3 equivalent to vitamin D3 200 IU. It also contains the following inactive ingredients: Sucrose, mannitol, saccharin sodium, povidone, pinacolada flavor, magnesium stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide and purified water.
Calcium (Alcium-D3) is a mineral that is found naturally in foods. Calcium (Alcium-D3) is necessary for many normal functions of your body, especially bone formation and maintenance. Vitamin D is important for the absorption of Calcium (Alcium-D3) from the stomach and for the functioning of Calcium (Alcium-D3) in the body.
Calcium (Alcium-D3) and vitamin D combinations are used to prevent or to treat a Calcium (Alcium-D3) deficiency.
Calcium (Alcium-D3) and vitamin D combinations may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.
Usual Recommended Dose: 1 tab 2-3 times daily. If the effect of Revital Calcium (Alcium-D3) D3 is too strong or too weak, consult the pharmacist. Missed Dose: If a dose is missed, leave out that dose completely. Take the next dose when it is due. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
Hypersensitivity to Calcium (Alcium-D3) or vitamin D3, or to any of the ingredients of Revital Calcium (Alcium-D3) D3 (an allergic reaction may include rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips or feet/hands or breathing difficulties); have been diagnosed of kidney stones (nephrolithiasis); hypervitaminosis D; hypercalcemia (abnormally high level of Calcium (Alcium-D3) in the blood); hypercalciuria (excessive loss of Calcium (Alcium-D3) into the urine).
How to use Calcium (Alcium-D3) with Vitamin D
Inform a physician or pharmacist if taking, or have recently taken, any other medicines, even those not prescribed but bought/obtained without a prescription.
Care is needed if taking thiazide diuretics (also known as water tablets eg, hydrochlorothiazide, chlorothiazide); corticosteroids (medicines used to suppress the immune system); tetracycline (an antibacterial agent), leave a period of about 2 hrs before or 3-6 hrs after, oral intake of Revital Calcium (Alcium-D3) D3; cardiac glycosides including Digoxin (used to treat certain heart conditions); bisphosphonate (medicines used for strengthening bones eg, alendronate, etidronate, pamidronate) or fluoride-containing medicines should be taken at least 3 hrs before the intake of Revital Calcium (Alcium-D3) D3; drugs eg, cimetidine, mizatidine, ranitidine, famotidine, lansoprazole, omeprazole, rabeprazole (drugs used to treat stomach and intestinal ulcers); levothyroxine (medicine used to treat low thyroid hormone production) should be taken at least 4 hrs before or after intake of Revital Calcium (Alcium-D3) D3; quinolones eg, ciprofloxacin, gatifloxacin, levofloxacin, lomefloxacin, moxifloxacin, norfloxacin, ofloxacin, sparfloxacin, trovafloxacin (medicines used for treatment of bacterial infections) should be taken 2 hrs before or after intake of Revital Calcium (Alcium-D3) D3; minerals eg, iron, fluoride, magnesium, phosphorous; non-digestible oligosaccharides (fructo-oligosaccharides, inulin); concomitant intake of sodium alginate and Calcium (Alcium-D3) may decrease the absorption of Calcium (Alcium-D3); cholestyramine and colestipol (medicines used to lower high cholesterol levels and certain fatty substance in the blood); ketoconazole (drug used to treat fungal infections); mineral oil or paraffin oil (used to treat constipation); orlistat (medicine used to reduce weight); phenytoin, phenobarbitone (medicines used in the treatment of epilepsy); the fat substitute olestra inhibits the absorption of vitamin D as well as the other fat-soluble vitamins A, E and K.
